Vinith from India says:
"Etoro has a good platform that is easy to use, but that advantage is coupled with more disadvantages.
First of all, their demo account is as smooth as butter, which lures most of the people into trading with etoro. But once
you switch to real account, the interface gets stuck very often and gets disconnected when you least expects it.
When we open a trade position, most of the time the trade execution gets delayed, or at times the interface/platform stops responding altogether, resulting in an unfavorable trade. The same happens while closing trades as well.
If you are looking to learn, etoro can be good, but if you are trading real money, stay AWAY from Etoro as far as
possible, if you don't want to lose money due to an unresponsive platform and irresponsible technical team.
And as far as I have heard, withdrawing money can be a pain too, but depositing money is easy, and only requires two
steps. Withdrawing may take up to 2 weeks in certain cases and lots of email conversations in between."
Advice From Gandalf The FX:
To start, Etoro is an IB (introducing broker) to FXsolutions. Basically, you are using FXsolution's liquidity and
execution when trading with the EToro platform.
You can never count on a Demo account to trade exactly the same as a Live account. Demo trades are faster because
they do not need to execute at the liquidity provider or bank. When you place a trade on a live account the trade must go
through a number of hops in order to open or close your position. More steps results in slower executions, especially
during busy trading times like news releases. Imagine thousands of trades all trying to be executed at the same time
through the same server. Executions are bound to get slower, this is true for all retail FX brokers.
