Fredrick from Sweden says:
"I opened a ECN account a while ago..
When the account activated it was a mini account.. fixed in a second the day after after one phone call.
Then one day the order execution froze at about 22.30-ish and I did wait a little before calling them.. ended up at some
brittish accent helpdesk who tried to contact someone who could do anything but without success..
I then tried to put in limit/stop orders but price went through them.. after almost an hour the position closed at one of the "thrown in" stops.. still no help from the support and we hung up...
Then my terminals crashed (I run two different computers side by side).
When I fired them up again my EA opened orders up to the margin limit !!!
WTF.. ! 2 seconds of troubleshooting showed that the quotes all of a sudden jumped several 100 pips triggering every indicator possible... Some server restart made the quote stream history go back in time and skip some price action... I subsequently tried to close all idiotic orders as close as possible to breakeven but did not manage to do so...
I emailed them a complaint about they beeing responsible for the erroneus data and claimed ~$280 (loss + commissions) and I got no reply !! After several new mails I got orders to translate my complaint to english (from originally Swedish) which I did the same day.... no answers still.. about 3 weeks has elapsed now and I'm not using the account anymore.
I've given them an ultimatum of compensating me or lose me as a customer... no reply either...
So far they have made ~$450 in commissions of me and to compensate $280 with the result that I happily continued my trading apparently wasn't appealing..
I'm starting to beleive they rather take my $450 and run than give me $280 and let me feed them future commissions..."
Advice from Gandalf The FX:
It seems like you had a bunch of issues with Nordmarkets. Many of the problems you describe are technology problems. The fact is every broker has technology problems. However, all the problems may be caused by different reasons and some times without any explanation, they just happen.
I can not respond to your statements regarding the lack of support, but rule of thumb, it usually means the broker's support knows it is the one at fault.
You are correct though with your last statement. The person in charge of your account had no interest in keeping you as a customer; which usually falls under the direction of the sales manager in charge of your account - so try to get a hold of that person to get what you need.
